In 1950, Clive Staples Lewis wrote one of the finest fantasy stories in the history of children's literature - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This first in a series of seven books introduces Narnia, an enchanted land protected by the gentle lion Aslan. Lewis emphasizes the familiar theme of good vs. evil in a tale where four children find a magical world beyond (what they thought was) an ordinary wardrobe.
