Sid the pigeon is very choosy about finding just the right home in the magnificent city of San Francisco. And find it he does, in the loop of a huge capital letter "B" in an electric sign high up on top of the Bay Hotel. Sid's view of San Francisco is without equal, so he asks the lovely dove Midge to share his home. But one morning, while Midge is taking her turn sitting on two eggs while Sid scouts for food, disaster strikes - a truck comes and workers take down the letters on the skyscraper one by one. Sid is beside himself, searching the city in vain for his family and the giant letter "B," until an old friend unwittingly leads him to Blumz Bakery - which happens to be installing a new letter "B" in their sign...
Winner of a Caldecott Honor, Fly High, Fly Low is a heartwarming story of two birds making a home - and then making another one - in one of America's great cities.
