National Braille Press publishes books for all ages- from toddlers to adult - because the ability to read and write is the most important gateway to opportunity. Literacy opens the door to a whole new universe of understanding, imagination, and knowledge. When you sponsor a book, you help NBP keep that door open for blind people.
Braille books are expensive because they are labor intensive, time consuming, and cost 2-3 times more than print books to produce. As a result, owning your own braille books has traditionally been a rarity. National Braille Press believes that blind people should pay for their books but we don't think they should have to pay more than sighted people pay for the same materials. Your donation can help us make up the difference between the production cost and the sale price.
Sponsoring one of our braille books is a tangible way to see the value of your philanthropy. Your name/logo will be included on the title page of that book and you can even volunteer to assemble the book you have sponsored. Here is a list of children's book titles.
The book sponsorship program is a unique way for National Braille Press to acknowledge exceptional generosity. Book sponsorships start at $5,000 and all gifts are fully tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. To find out more, contact Kimberley Ballard at firstname.lastname@example.org.
