Forgive me if I annoy anyone but I need to ask a question that I may
have asked before. I need some information for this weekends work. It
has to do with the links in the template MENU_BAR and the Site Colors &
Fonts functionality.
Email for this project has been tricky for me as I only have access to
my fmr.com email address at Fidelity and only have access to my
comcast.net email at home. I can't get to my Fidelity email from home
and I can't get to my Comcast email at Fidelity. It's been a project
shuffling email back and forth. I mention this as I might have some of
the information I'm looking for on my comcast email account but I can't
get to it here at Fidelity.
With John McDonald's help, I am preparing to start some work that will
take John and I through to July 1st or so. I have a task list that I
emailed to myself and John but I deleted it from my sent mail here at
Fidelity. Prabhakar I will email this to you tonight for your records.
The tasks are web-reskin of the pages in the MENU_BAR Template and CSS
customization.
All that being said, I plan to complete these tasks before I roll of the
project in July. I have some other commitments that I really have to get
to.
What I want to know from NPB so I can work this weekend are two things:
1) Are all "Landing pages" to be called index.html and in a unique
directory?
2) From the current horizontal menu
http://29.camp.nbp.temphost.net:9029/ic/nbp/index.html, are these the
landing pages?
"Braille Bookstore / Our Store"
"Accessible Business Services / Overview"
"Programs / Readbooks!"
"Get Involved / Get Involved"
"Customer Education Services / Overview"
Or are these the landing pages?
"Braille Bookstore"
"Accessible Business Services"
"Programs"
"Get Involved"
"Customer Education Services"
3) The original Web-Reskin documentation mentions a "Cookie" is used in
the current site "Site Colors & Fonts" functionality. I can't seem to
find the code for the cookie. Can NBP confirm that a cookie is used? I
see a set of .css files used at the Server Side and code to pull in a
set to create customization but no cookie created on the Client Side or
accessed on the Server Side.
4) When I read the documentation on Site Customization, I read it to
state: (1) Use the current "Live" web site colors, (2) Lavender is
Purple which is also the default color for the "Web-Reskin"
Conclusion: Based upon the answer on the Landing Page I count either 28
or 33 "Secondary" pages have to be "Re-skinned" with the new templates.
The page content will not be changed during this task and third level
pages will not be addressed in this task. The new styles that currently
have been added to main_font.css will be added to the "font size" and
"font color" .css. files for site customization. And this will be my
contribution to the project.
